| The GeorgiaCares LifeLong Planning Program
helps individuals explore long-term care services, costs, and ways to
prepare early. The program was established in 2005 to educate Georgians in
the use of personal planning tools and private funding options to meet
future long-term care needs. |

GeorgiaCares and the Area Agencies on
Aging will send out volunteer educators to help individuals prepare in
advance for their long-term care needs by describing services, costs, and
funding sources; presenting more than a dozen private financing options; and
explaining consumer protection tools such as checklists and comparison
charts.
Staff and volunteers will also help consumers understand the
limitations of public funding to pay for long-term care costs and describe
ways to finance expenses through long-term care insurance, home equity, life
insurance, annuities, trusts, investments, specialized loans, and other
options. |
